About Acme
Acme Marine Supply was founded in 1987 by sisters Maren and Ingrid Kolstad, who started by re-splicing rope ends from a bait shed on Pelican Quay. The original shed still stands inside our warehouse and now houses the compass calibration bench.
Today the company employs 23 people, runs the delivery skiff Petrel, and maintains the only Gullwing compass swing table on this coast. Maren remains head of manufacturing; Ingrid retired in 2019 and now crews a rescue cutter.
